In 1981, Controlled Power recognized that the industry needed an independent supplier for 38kV metal-clad switchgear. Later that year, CP received its first contract from a major mass transit authority for over $1.3 million of this equipment.

Since that time, CP has received numerous orders from a variety of customers, including electric utilities, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, and industrial companies.
